The Confidence That Comes From Earning Your Own Income
I want to say this clearly before we go any further: this is not an article about getting rich. It is not about investing, side hustles, or making money online. It is about something quieter, and I think considerably more important — what happens inside a person the moment they prove they can create something of their own.
I have noticed something over the years, both in my own life and in the lives of people I have talked to, that nobody really prepares you for. It is not that money buys happiness — most of us worked that one out a while ago, usually the hard way. It is something more specific than that, and harder to explain unless you have lived it.
